Why is your kitchen layout important?
Kitchen is an integral part of your home for many reasons. Besides being the source of food for your family, for FengShui believers, it also represents the foundations and support of one’s career or business well being.
As this area is commonly a territory of women, most focus is given on its aesthetics, especially the cabinet designs, style and color.However, in reality the most practical thing for any kitchen should be its layout. This is because the kitchen layout decides how convenient it is to prepare food, cook, wash, eat and perhaps even socialising in the kitchen.
Setting up a wrong kitchen layout have the possibility of making food preparation and cooking activities tiring instead of joyful because of the unnecessary movements within the space.
Though many might think cooking activities are just a short period of time, but do keep in mind, how often one needs to eat and use the kitchen tools daily? Repetition of simple inconveniences tires one out very fast.
Most professional layouts or designs propose the kitchen work triangle. As with its name, it symbolises the shape in which people work in kitchen spaces.

Another example of it occurring would be in this scenario : You might also move between the sink and refrigerator when you bring back food from the market to place in the sink to clean and then only storing them in the refrigerator, or to cook immediately thus again this movement is locked in the kitchen work triangle.
However for some modern kitchen that has different sections like dry kitchen or wet kitchen or some huge houses with island areas, then this kitchen layout principle could not be applied effectively.
Finally, as nice and durable kitchen cabinets, kitchen tiles and surface tops are important, you should always give considerations to the layout too, for designing the perfect usable kitchen.
