Privacy Policy

We take our customers’ privacy seriously. Data protection is a matter of trust, so we only collect and use your personal information as set out in this Privacy Policy. We only collect information where it is necessary and relevant to our dealings with you, and we only keep it for as long as the law requires or as is relevant for the purposes for which it was collected.

This policy is issued by Avion Tech Sdn Bhd (1193719-K), which runs BMO (website and mobile apps), under the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (Malaysia). BMO is committed to complying with that Act.

1. Information we collect

You can visit BMO and browse without providing personal details. We cannot identify you by name unless you have an account and log on, but we do collect the computer data and use the cookies described in section 5.

When you create a BMO account, the personal information we collect may include your:

• Name
• Delivery address
• Email address
• Telephone and mobile number

If you sell on BMO, we also collect your business details (company name, registration number, address and phone number), your business registration certificate, and your payout bank account details with proof of the account. We store bank account details encrypted and use them only to check your account and to pay you, which includes sharing them with our payment gateway provider to make payouts.

2. How we use it

• To process your orders and provide the services and information offered through BMO that you request
• To help our Sellers deliver the products you buy through BMO
• For customer support
• To administer your account, and to verify and carry out payments you make online
• To send you relevant product information and other information we think you may find useful or that you have asked for, including about our products and services
• To audit the downloading of data from BMO, identify visitors, improve the layout and content of our pages and customise them for users, and research our users’ demographics

When you register on BMO, we may also send you marketing, promotional materials and newsletters from us and our related companies from time to time. You can ask us to stop at any time by contacting us, or by using the unsubscribe link where the email has one. Service emails about your account and orders are still sent.

3. Who we share it with

BMO does not sell or trade your personal information. We share it only with:

• Sellers: your name, address and contact details, so they can deliver your order. Sellers may use these details only to fulfil your order and provide after-sales service.
• Our payment gateway and others directly involved in paying for and delivering the products you buy through BMO.
• Service providers that host our platform, send our emails and provide features such as maps and search, only as needed for them to provide those services. Some of them store data outside Malaysia; we use providers that protect it.
• Related companies in our corporate group.
• Authorities, in exceptional circumstances, when there are grounds to believe disclosure is necessary to prevent a threat to life or health, or for law enforcement purposes.

In general, the third-party providers we use only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to perform the services they provide to us.

4. Payments

Payments that you make through BMO are processed by our payment gateway provider, Fiuu (formerly MOLPay and Razer Merchant Services). You enter your card details on Fiuu’s secure payment page. BMO does not receive or store your full card number, and cannot retrieve it.

Payment gateways and other payment processors have their own privacy policies for the information we must give them for your purchases. We recommend that you read their privacy policies and terms and conditions to understand how they handle your personal information.

You must only give us and our payment provider information that is accurate and not misleading, keep it up to date, and tell us of any changes.

5. Computer data and cookies

When you visit BMO, our servers automatically record information that your browser sends. This data may include:

• Your computer’s IP address
• Browser type
• The webpage you were visiting before you came to our site
• The pages you visit on BMO
• The time spent on those pages, items and information searched for, access times and dates, and other statistics

We collect this information to run and secure BMO, and to analyse and improve our site, mobile apps and the services and products we provide.

BMO uses cookies and similar browser storage to keep you logged in, remember your cart and settings, and keep the site secure. We also use Google Tag Manager and Google AdSense, which may set cookies to measure how the site is used and to show ads. You can block or delete cookies in your browser, but some parts of BMO, such as logging in and checkout, may not work without them.

6. Your location

If you allow it, BMO uses your device’s location to find products and suppliers near you when you search. It is kept in your browser for that search and is not saved to your account.

7. Your account

You can log in to your BMO account on our website or mobile apps at any time to view your completed, open and upcoming orders, and to update your personal information, address details, bank details and other information.

Keep your login details private and do not make them available to anyone else. We cannot accept liability for misuse of passwords unless the misuse is our fault.

You may ask us to delete your User or Seller account by email to customer@buildingmaterials.com.my or WhatsApp to 017-6603557. We will then delete or anonymise the personal information in your account, except records we must keep by law, such as orders, payments, invoices and payouts.

8. Your rights

Under the Personal Data Protection Act 2010, you may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, withdraw your consent to how we use it, or ask us to limit its use. Contact us at customer@buildingmaterials.com.my. We may need to check your identity first. If you withdraw consent to information we need, for example your delivery address, we may not be able to provide some services.

9. Keeping your information secure

We store the information we collect safely and securely. We protect your personal information by:

• Limiting access to it
• Maintaining technology to prevent unauthorised computer access
• Securely destroying it when it is no longer needed for our record retention purposes

10. Changes to this policy

BMO may change this Privacy Policy at any time without prior notice. Any changes will be published on this page. Please check it from time to time: if you continue to use BMO after a change, you accept the updated policy.
